Who are we and what do we do?

Ebony and Co is an international team of dedicated professionals, passionate about our unique product – the finest handcrafted wood flooring on the planet. We deliver an infinite range of designs through a complete 'forest to floor' service, flowing from the individual tree to the final fit, finish and then beyond.
Our clients are the inspiration and daily motivation for us to keep doing what we love best.
We are committed to providing a complete 'circle of service' which guarantees that we will always be on-hand to provide personal help and advice at every stage of the process, from initial enquiry all the way through to aftercare and maintenance.

What makes us unique?

Our trees
The wood we select for our floors comes from trees buried deep in the vast, dense forests of North East America. Our lumberjacks know these forests intimately, even down to the individual trees growing within. Their expert selection ensures the best tree for each project and the continued regeneration of the forest. Where a great tree is taken out, others will quickly claim the space and in a century or more, another great tree will stand in its place, ready for cutting by the next generation. This is the essence of sustainable forestry and the circle of life in the forest.

We use exclusively mature trees at the end of their growth cycle. Only with age comes character, size and quality.

Our methods
The raw material is only the beginning. After the felling comes the sawing, seasoning and drying. Our sawyers take the centre cut of the wood; we allow the planks to 'season' for up to a year; and then they are slowly kiln dried for weeks. Even on-site we insist that the planks are given plenty of time to adjust to their new surroundings before being finally laid down.

We use conditioning techniques which take months rather than weeks. Only with careful handling comes long-term stability.
