The R-Value is a measure of thermal resistance of a material used in the case of floor coverings, for the calculation of transferring heat from an under floor heating system, into the room atmosphere. The higher the resistance figure, the longer the initial heat transferral. For example combing our 15mm (5/8") Plywood Subfloor (R-Value of .77) with our 19.5mm (3/4") solid Walnut wood floor (R-Value of .65), will result in a total resistance value of 1.42.
