The internationally recognised method of measuring the hardness of a wood is known as the Janka Hardness Scale. This scale allows us to consider the durability of the wood we choose for our floor. For example resistance to heel marks and high traffic. It should not be mistaken however for scratch or scuff resistance that can occur to the finish applied to the floor.
