Boutique hotel in the Provençe

Swiss architects and life partners Alain Meylan and Liliana Atilova restored an enchanting 17th-century residence to its former glory, opting for a Continental Oak flooring with a contemporary Megève Lava Hardwax finish.

Dating back to the17th-century, Mas de Chabran is a true example of contemporary Provençal paradise.
Dating back to the17th-century, Mas de Chabran is a true example of contemporary Provençal paradise.
The first owners were farmers; the architects encountered more than 300 olive trees and two millstones right in front of the house. The aim of K-Architectes was to restore the house while respecting its past and its explicit connection with nature.
Its castle-like atmosphere and generous quality of life inspired the Geneva-based architects to make the magical place their second home. One part of the building is dedicated to upscale tourism.
Wooden flooring adds character and a pleasing tactility to wet areas, such as here in this bathroom and bedroom.
Materials were deliberately picked for their storytelling power, adding layers of history to the high-ceilinged spaces. Marble, terracotta tiles, exposed beams and Ebony and Co’s Continental Oak Megève Lava Hardwax wide plank flooring all add character to the different interiors. Fabrics chosen for the upholstery hint at the relationship of this part of France with India.

Floor and finish

Pre-finished by hand with our 'Megève-effect', the Oak surface becomes denser and harder revealing a deeply textured grain with lively accents and moderate variation in colour and structure.
